Talk is swirling again on capital hill about cancelling Saturday mail service.  For some reason this is still viewed as a heated debate.  We are in the age of email, text messaging, and Facebook... As Hot Wings says, do we really need to get that "third Pottery Barn catalog of the week?"

The big debate centers on service for rural customers, with defenders saying that they need this service for Saturday medicine deliveries.  If the Saturday service is cancelled this would end up saving the US Postal service $3.1 billion.
