Stories like this always hit me hard. I mean, when adults are fighting cancer it's tough enough to imagine what they're facing. However, when it's a kid, whew.

Today, one of those brave kids is getting his wish via the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan.

Two years ago, Ethan, then 12 years old, was diagnosed with lymphoid leukemia.

While Ethan was going through chemo, he'd talk to his mom about taking a trip once the chemo treatments were finished. He's not finished yet, but decided to go on that that trip to Hawaii for parasailing and snorkeling.

Ethan and his family, who are from Caledonia, leave from Gerald R. Ford International Airport later today.

The wish was sponsored by the Greenridge Dream Team Foundation, a Grand Rapids organization which has granted nearly 100 wishes for Make-A-Wish Michigan this year.
