Coming from the category of "Whoda thunk it?", is the news that your eyes don't actually see, it's really your brain that interprets whatever your eyes happen to send it, so you can replace the input to your tongue!

A device called the BrainPort allows blind people to place this sensor on their tongue, and it will send information to their brain that allows them to "see" something!

This is really freaking cool!

The guy in this video can not only find objects to pick them up, but also read numbers and letters written on things!  He can see his daughter hold out her hand, he can even play Tic Tac Toe with her!
