It's every parent's (and child's) worst nightmare: opening what you believe is the gift of a lifetime, only to find out the gift isn't there at all. This is exactly what happened to one Massachusetts family this Christmas.

According to Boston’s Fox 25, 9-year-old Scott Lundy was ecstatic when he unwrapped a PlayStation 4 on Christmas morning. Just like any typical child on Christmas, he wanted to set up the console immediately. But when his dad opened the box, they found only a block of wood inside, which (to add insult to injury) also had a dick and balls drawn on it.

Upon realizing what had happened, Scott was inconsolable. His step-mother, Kristin Lundy, said, “He’s crying and he’s upset and he’s in the playroom by himself and he just wants to be alone so at that point. I was crushed.”

The Lundy family was able to return the fake PS4 to the Target it was purchased at. After explaining their situation with a manager, Scott received a real PS4, a copy of The Uncharted Collection, and a $100 gift card.

Scott's family is currently blaming this incident on a rogue elf, who they have written about in a complaint letter to Santa. You can check out the full story in the video below.
