Police shut down several streets this morning in downtown Grand Rapids due to a bomb threat.  Police were on the scene before 5am this morning to investigate a mysterious package near the corner of Lyon Street NE and Ransom Avenue.  At about 6:30am police sent in a robot to look at the package.

According to an update at 7:30am from MLive.com,

"Police have determined the package is not suspicious, according to dispatch traffic. They are talking to the people who put the package in place. Police are re-opening streets and allowing people back into buildings that had been evacuated."
