“Hey guys, who thinks I’m a robot? Ridley? Denis?”

What a shot. Denis Villeneuve, Ridley Scott, Harrison Ford, and Ryan Gosling on the set of Blade Runner 2 — or as it’s now officially known, Blade Runner 2049. I don’t remember them making 2,047 other Blade Runner movies, so the title is probably referring to the year the movie is set. The original Blade Runner was set in 2019, and released 35 years before the new film comes out next fall. 35 years after 2019 is 2054 - so 2049 puts you right in the right neighborhood for a sequel that’s set roughly that same number of years later.

Here’s the plot description that Warner Bros. sent along with the photo and title:

The sequel is set several decades after the 1982 original, and stars Ryan Gosling together with Harrison Ford, reprising his iconic role as Rick Deckard. The film is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and succeeds the initial story by Fancher and David Peoples based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Story details are not being revealed.

From this picture, though, we can discern at least that in the far-flung year of 2049, plaid button-downs are still the height of fashion and Deckard has traded in his noir-ish overcoat for a canary yellow T-shirt. (Or this is a behind-the-scenes photo, and not, like, a still from the actual movie. This would admittedly be an unconventional direction for the Blade Runner series.) Blade Runner 2049 opens on October 6, 2017.
