Black Label Society Unveils ‘Angel of Mercy’ Clip [Video]
Black Label Society are digging deeper into the ‘Catacombs of the Black Vatican’ album and giving fans a new video for the soulful standout ‘Angel of Mercy.’
The video finds Zakk Wylde and his BLS crew teaming up with longtime collaborator, Justin Reich of the Antimatter Studio. As expected with a title like ‘Angel of Mercy,’ the clip is filled with religious symbolism from the angel statues to the graveyard of crosses being washed by a baptizing rain.
But the true highlight of the video is Black Label Society’s studio performance with the group stripping back some of their heaviness for a more soul-baring tune. And while the song is more melodic and does employ the use of backing strings, fans can still look for a blistering Zakk Wylde guitar solo in the midst of the performance.
‘Angel of Mercy’ is featured on the ‘Catacombs of the Black Vatican’ album, which was released earlier this spring. The disc, which also spawned the hit ‘My Dying Time,’ can be purchased via iTunes.
You can look for Black Label Society back out on tour this summer. The band will headline a series of dates beginning July 17 in Cincinnati and running through Aug. 4 in Albuquerqe. Wovenwar and Kyng will provide support. They’ll also take part in Slipknot‘s Knotfest this fall. See all of the band’s tour dates here.
