Bernie Sanders is on the campaign trail this year, vying for the Democratic nomination for president. Friday he'll be making a stop in West Michigan at Grand Valley State University.

The rally will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Allendale campus' Fieldhouse.

This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required, but RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Admission is first come, first served. You can RSVP on Sanders' website.

For security reasons, the public is asked to not bring bags and limit what theybring to small, personal items like keys and cell phones.

Weapons, sharp objects, chairs, and signs or banners on sticks will not be allowed through security. Parking is available on-site, and public buses stop at the university and campus shuttles stop at the fieldhouse.
