Awaken The Empire Kicked Ass in Grand Rapids with I Prevail on Saturday Night [Video]

Saturday night, the Crossroads Tour with I Prevail, Dangerkids, Fit For Rivals, Awaken the Empire, and For All I Am rolled into Grand Rapids at The Intersection. This was the last night of the tour, and the bands wanted a crazy crowd to end the tour. They totally got it in Grand Rapids, as everyone went nuts during the show.

Some friends had told me I had to check out Awaken the Empire when I went to the Crossroads Tour show in Grand Rapids, and loving live music, I did.

This band is quite a bit different from the other bands on the bill for the tour, with a more melodic sound and vocal style than the rest of the bands. They've got aggression to their sound, but a lot more melody and singing to them, with some really cool songs, and interesting choruses. Check out the second song, "I'm Not Invisible", to hear how they use the backup singers with Damien's lead vocals to weave the chorus.
