Where do you even begin with this game? I mean, c'mon....it's freakin' POKEMON! Back when this game came out, there were a few fans who read Nintendo Power and knew what it was all about, but it wasn't until you heard about it on the playground or word of mouth...and this simple game became an INTERNATIONAL PHENOMENON!
This summer is so far, turning out the be the "Most Metal Summer of All Time." So many great shows are showing up to the Grand Rapids area, my ears will be bleeding from the upcoming metal massacres. Not only are bands like Children of Bodom, Amon Amarth, and Behemoth coming to the Intersection...you can add Killswitch Engage to that list.
THIS IS THE SHOW I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR! Just look at that lineup! If you are headbanging metal head like myself, this is ranks up there as one of the 'SICKEST' shows to hit The Intersection! I have been waiting for these bands to come to Grand Rapids. I would have never thought all in one show!
Fighting games were amazing back in the 90's! Just that simple 1 vs 1 formula worked so well in the arcades. We didn't have to start fight on the street, we started fights on the arcade machines. The standard for fighting games at the time was either Street Fighter II or Mortal Kombat. Button mashing punches at it's finest. Then this word came up in fight games named....COMBO!
Last time Mastodon graced us with their presence, they brought with them an arsenal of metal sharing the stage with Opeth. The show SOLD OUT! The 'metal' was powerful that night, and Mastodon tore up the stage. Apparently, they could not get enough of Grand Rapids, so they have decided to make the trip back. This time though, they are bringing MORE METAL with MACHINEHEAD!
Before I became a Metal Head, I went through many different phases of music before I discovered the greatness and brutality that is metal. Limp Bizkit's Significant Other was the VERY first CD I ever bought, so there is a piece of my heart with these guys. After many rumors, new album, etc. Limp Bizkit is making a stop here in Grand Rapids!
I was so excited for this game! I have been a fan of Resident Evil for years. Ever since the first game came out, I watched my brother play it from beginning to end. Then I finally figured out how to play the game, and then my love for the series began. Resident Evil 1,2,3,4, Code Veronica, are all amazing games! Then the spin-offs began...and RE: Operation Raccoon City came around, with some really mixed reviews, some good...most bad.
Where did it all begin? The Arcades. Those large dark rooms with kids, mom's, dad's, businessmen, were pumping quarters into large machines so they could get the highest of high scores on that game. Arcade's are not as popular as they used to be, but they are still fun to go too. Chances are though, if you stumble into any arcade or fun center, you will find a Ms. Pac-Man machine somewhere in there.
I am a huge Gears of War fan. I have been playing this game series ever since the first Gears of War was available. It has impressed me with it's good story telling, awesome 3rd person perspective, and even the ability to make me 'feel' for the characters. Gears of War has pulled a 'Star Wars,' and has now delved into the prequel world with Gears of War: Judgement.
After months and months of waiting, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has finally announced their acts for the 2013 Metal Festival...and it does not disappoint at all!
