I've never been good at filling these things out, but here it goes. I like long walks in cold mountain air, preferably with snow on the ground. I enjoy drinking fine soda by the crackling fire, and deep tissue massage. I hope to one day grow up an become and astronaut, so I can fly to Venus to see if that's really where women come from. If it's true, I'll bring one back for you, too. Unless it's a dude you want, and then you're out of luck...sorry. My favorite month is October, because Halloween is the best holiday ever! It allows me to openly proclaim my love and obsession with scary movies without being seen as some sort of lunatic. Okay, not too much of a lunatic. I'm a huge fan of rock and metal music, and you'll often hear me blasting the control room speakers into oblivion every night during my show. My engineer doesn't like me very much, since he has to fix them. Sorry, Mike.

Look at Beijing From Above – Taken Illegally with a Quadcopter!

Did you know that the Chinese police and military aren't super enthusiastic about people flying drones over their military installations?

Neither did Trey Ratcliff.  He went to China, and was flying his quadcopter around without much issue, mostly it seemed the police were confused by the whole situation.

Is Lamb of God’s Drummer Slipknot’s New Drummer?

Since "The Negative One" came out, people have been speculating on who the new drummer for Slipknot is.  Some people think it's still Joey Jordison, since the drum sound is similar.  But more and more people are commenting on the style being that of Chris Adler, the drummer for Lamb of God!

A lot of people.

So many, that Chris has responded to the questions with the most, "I am the drummer" response possible, without actually saying that he's the drummer.

Johnnie’s TBT – Meeting Metallica in 1997

Today is the anniversary of Metallica's black album release, so I figured I try this throwback Thursday thing for once.

This doesn't go back to '92, but '97, when Metallica was touring for the Load album, before Reload came out.  I got the chance to hit a couple shows, as I was part of a station event where we gave away a trip to Phoenix for the Metallica show on January 5th, and then we raced back for the show in Las Cruces on January 6th.

Metallica’s Black Album Came Out on This Day

In 1992, I was in Kansas getting ready for work, and I clearly remember seeing the video for "Enter Sandman" come on MTV.  Yes, this was back when MTV actually showed music videos, and not crappy (un)reality shows.  Where were you?  What were you doing?

There was so much anticipation for the new album, since they'd been touring relentlessly for their previous albums, and everyone was excited to see what they would do to top ...And Justice for All.

They went in a totally different direction, instead of trying to top it!

Where Can I Find This Vietnamese Dish in Grand Rapids?

There's a Vietnamese dish I found in El Paso before I left home that I really liked.  It was just called Crispy Fried Noodle (#378) at Pho Tre Bien, and it was amazing!  If you're ever in El Paso, check out that place, it's good.

I love the Pho, don't get me wrong.  And the Vietnamese sandwiches are awesome, too.  But this crispy noodle bowl was the shiznit!

RIP Robin Williams – The Mad Misfit King

Robin Williams' death last night came as a great shock to a lot of people, and really saddened me when I heard.  This will be one of the few serious posts you'll see from me, and I normally don't get incredibly emotional over celebrity deaths, since they only superficially touch our lives, but Robin Williams' passing really hit me.

I've been watching this guy work for so long, playing so many different roles, making me laugh, playing amazing dramatic roles...and one thing he mastered with a lot of these roles is the misfit.

Scott Weiland Would Love to Play Shows with STP to Make Some Money

Scott Weiland hasn't been exactly silent since his split with Stone Temple Pilots, and he doesn't seem to be in regular communication with them, either.

In a recent interview, he was asked about a reunion with STP (of course), and he said he'd heard they were having a "cattle call" for a new singer, and maybe he should join the cattle call.

Watch a Megadeth Full Live Show from Bloodstock

This is why the internet is awesome.  A band can play a show on a completely different continent on Sunday, and by Monday afternoon, we can watch that show here!

Megadeth is doing some festivals and big shows, while they work on the next Megadeth album, which will hopefully be fast and thrashy again.

Last night, they hit the Bloodstock Open Air festival in England, and tore it up in front of a huge crowd.  Today, we can turn out monitors so the boss can't see them, and watch the entire show, pro-shot on our computers!
