Joe Robinson

Born on the outskirts of Motown and raised in the shadow of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Joe has been writing about rock music since interviewing Shudder to Think's Craig Wedren for his high school newspaper -- back when bands like Shudder to Think were recording for major labels. He's written for the Cleveland Free Times, Alternative Press, the Village Voice, SuicideGirls and a variety of other online publications and blogs, some of which have not existed in years. He started with Townsquare in 2011 writing for Loudwire and Ultimate Classic Rock, and has been with Diffuser.fm since it launched in spring 2012.

Vampire Weekend Releasing New Album This Spring

Vampire Weekend have emerged from their cave and announced plans to release a follow-up to their 2010 album 'Contra' sometime soon -- possibly as early as this spring, Consequence of Sound reports. The band recorded the as-yet-untitled disc in New York City and Los Angeles with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Murs, We Are Scientists, Usher) and assistance from the group's own Rostam Batmanglij.

Bamboozle Festival 2013 Cancelled

Two months after organizers announced that the Bamboozle festival would not be returning to Asbury Park, N.J., next year, the entire 2013 festival has been cancelled. "We are sad to announce we will miss all of you in 2013 but keep your eyes peeled for 2014 info," reads a Facebook post from the event's organizers. "Have a warm and safe holiday season!" No reason for the decision was given.

The London home in which Amy Winehouse's body was discovered when she died in July 2011 at the age of 27 has sold at auction for $3.2 million, reports the BBC. The semi-detached Camden Square property went under the hammer on Monday (Dec. 3) at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) headquarters in the Piccadilly section of London.

Depeche Mode: ‘Somebody Should Shoot Simon Cowell’

Depeche Mode have spoken out against Simon Cowell, the media mogul who judged several seasons of 'American Idol' here in the States and created the similar British competitive singing show 'The X Factor,' for the damage they insist such programs have wrought on the music industry.
