The band recorded the as-yet-untitled disc in New York City and Los Angeles with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Murs, We Are Scientists, Usher) and assistance from the group's own Rostam Batmanglij.

Two months after organizers announced that the Bamboozle festival would not be returning to Asbury Park, N.J., next year, the entire 2013 festival has been cancelled. "We are sad to announce we will miss all of you in 2013 but keep your eyes peeled for 2014 info," reads a Facebook post from the event's organizers. "Have a warm and safe holiday season!" No reason for the decision was given.

Depeche Mode have spoken out against Simon Cowell, the media mogul who judged several seasons of 'American Idol' here in the States and created the similar British competitive singing show 'The X Factor,' for the damage they insist such programs have wrought on the music industry. In fact, Mode guitarist-keyboardist Martin Gore even went so far as to say that he would like to see Cowell shot for his actions, although that comment was admittedly tongue-in-cheek.

Muse have landed the top honor at the Q magazine Awards 2012, as the British trio bested the likes of Coldplay, Lady Gaga and the Stone Roses to be named Best Act in the World Today during a ceremony held on Monday (Oct. 22) in London, England. Muse led an impressive list of Q Awards winners that also included Blur, Bobby Womack, Keane, Pulp, Johnny Marr and Killers frontman Brandon Flowers.
