Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Ride Along’ Laps ‘That Awkward Moment’ and ‘Labor Day’
Unless you had a personal stake in a film being released this weekend, movies were far from the most important thing happening to you these past couple of days. You can blame the weekend's mostly anemic box office on one thing: the Super Bowl. Everyone spent their money buying snacks and preparing their parties and not going to see 'That Awkward Moment' and 'Labor Day,' both of which opened soft.
‘SNL’ Says Goodbye to Seth Meyers with Help of Stefon and Amy Poehler
After years behind the Weekend Update desk, the terrific Seth Meyers is leaving 'SNL' to pursue other projects. And by pursue other projects, we mean "take over as host of 'Late Night' while Jimmy Fallon ascends to 'The Tonight Show.'" Of course, something as important, popular and prominent as Meyers doesn't depart without some kind of send-off and the show sent him off in style.

’22 Jump Street’ Poster: Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum Aren’t 21 Anymore
There is no comedy we're looking forward to more in 2014 than the reunion of Schmidt and Jenko, and there's nothing the newly released '22 Jump Street' poster can do to change our minds. The one-sheet could be completely blank and we'd still be excited because '21 Jump Street' remains one of the funniest movies of the past few years, and with everyone back for the sequel our expectations are hight
‘SNL’ and Former Porn Stars Want to Sell You Some Lambertinis [Video]
Sometimes, NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' is at its absolute best when it decides to go fully and truly off the rails. When the show does abandon reality, it often does so in the final sketch of the night, where things are allowed to get crazier and funkier since more easily unsettled audiences tend to be asleep.
Of course, this is just a long-winded way of saying that no sketch has dominated the fi
Man Fatally Shot in Florida Theater over Texting at ‘Lone Survivor’ Matinee [Video]
Going to the movies turned out to be a deadly excursion for one Florida man.
Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Lone Survivor’ is the Weekend’s Lone Victor
New releases have a habit of floundering in January, which tends to be one of Hollywood's biggest dumping grounds. Even this year's big January horror release, which is commonly a sure thing, floundered. What does tend to do well are the prestige pictures that opened late in the previous year (often in limited release) and finally expand in the new year, riding awards momentum to solid box office.
Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones’ Gets ‘Frozen’ Out of No. 1
Over the past few years, "Paranormal Activity" series has established itself as one of the most inexpensive and reliable horror franchises around.
Produced for pennies, they've consistently opened strong at the box office, ensuring a fast and efficient turnaround. The latest film, "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones," accomplished that goal, and did so without grabbing the No
Weekend Box Office Report: ‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’ ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ and More Battle It Out
Although you'd think people would spend the holidays in their homes catching up with their families and what-not, they actually tend to go to the movies after opening gifts and having awkward conversations. And Christmas Day moviegoers had a bunch of options this week, with recent releases (and not-so-recent releases) still going strong and a whole bunch of new releases arriving to coincide with t
Wonder Woman Gal Gadot on Her ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Casting [Video]
When it was revealed that Wonder Woman was going to be a character in the increasingly inaccurately titled "Batman vs. Superman" and that "Fast and Furious" franchise actress Gal Gadot would be taking the glowing reins, fan response was exactly what you'd expect it to be.
But now we can cut through the noise. For the first time since landing the part, Gadot has spoken about tak
‘Fleming': James Bond’s Creator Gets a Little Spy Action Himself
It's no secret that James Bond creator Ian Fleming based many aspects of his legendary fictional spy on parts of himself.
However, the trailer for the upcoming four-part BBC miniseries "Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond" wants to believe that he actually was 007.
The footage from the series has enough action and seduction to make it look like an actual James Bond movie.
Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Anchorman 2′ Can’t Quite Catch ‘The Hobbit’
The return of Ron Burgundy and his news team has been positioned as a big, huge deal. 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' has been marketed more than any major release this month and everyone just assumed that the film would effortlessly snag massive box office numbers thanks purely to saturation (on top of the fact that the original is quite beloved). So it must sting a little for Paramount to se
