Metallica filmed their 3D concerts for their upcoming film in Vancouver, Canada, adding a third show on Aug. 27 with a $5 ticket price and a condition. It was certainly not your average Metallica concert, as cameras and drum kits were moved between each song to accommodate the shooting of extra footage and close-ups to grab the imagery needed for the film. Despite that seeming annoyance and obstructed view, fans would be rewarded with something even more nvaluable, as pointed out by frontman James Hetfield.
Lokesh Simon James hit Bliss Cabaret, a strip joint in Clearwater, back in March, spending three hours and $600. That’s a pretty steep bill and probably bought him a couple of lap dances and drinks, along with some tips. No big deal, right? Wrong. When he checked his credit card statement a few days later, he discovered a $50,000 charge from the strip club.
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder paid a visit to the Ramones Museum in Berlin last week, accompanied by his guitar tech. He spent a few hours sharing stories, thoughts and memories about the late Johnny Ramone and other members. But perhaps most interesting is the touching, handwritten note Vedder left at the site.

Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Friday (May 4) for the first of two sold out shows, and the band took care to dedicate the show to Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, who tragically passed away mere miles away in his native New York earlier that day after a three-year bout with cancer.
Jane’s Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell offered a heartfelt eulogy on the passing of Beastie Boys‘ member Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch, who died yesterday (May 4) at the age of 47 after a battle with salivary gland cancer. Farrell labeled Yauch a part of our “musical vernacular.” We couldn’t agree more with that assessment.
Dec. 28 marks the second anniversary of the death of Avenged Sevenfold drummer The Rev. The stickman, born James Sullivan, died at the age of 28, due to an accidental overdose of a mixture of prescription drugs. An enlarged heart was suggested as another thing that could have factored into the kit minder’s tragic and untimely death.
