As excited as we are for this summer’s Atomic Blonde  —  you can read our own glowing review from this year’s SxSW if you still need a gentle nudge  —  you’d think we’d be all over every new piece of footage from the movie. But it seems a few clips managed to slip through our fingers this past week, so I’m taking this opportunity to bring you back up to speed. Two new Atomic Blonde clips, each themed to a piece of period-appropriate music? Plenty of Charlize Theron kicking [expletive] and taking names? Yeah, that’s definitely worth circling back a little bit for those of you who may have missed these clips.

Thanks to some smart cookie at Universal (via /Film), each of these extended clips has been branded as a separate chapter named after the ’80s music featured in the clips. ‘Chapter 1: Father Figure’ is a scene that has been heavily teased in the trailers, with Theron’s character fighting against a group of Russian soldiers in an abandoned apartment. The more recent ‘Chapter 2: The Politics of Dancing’ features Theron and Sofia Boutella in one of their more, ah, ‘intimate’ moments in the film. Come for the songs by George Michael (RIP) and British band Re-Flex, stay for Theron’s cold-blooded killer. You’re welcome.

Here’s the full plot synopsis for Atomic Blonde:

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

Atomic Blonde will also feature James McAvoy, John Goodman, and Toby Jones. The film will kick its way into theaters on July 28, 2017.
