Guitarist Ben Bruce wrote many of the lyrics for the upcoming Asking Alexandria album.

He told Metal Hammer that at first a lot of the lyrics were angry and aimed at former lead singer Danny Warsnop, who left the band in January

"A lot of them to begin with were about Danny. I was f-ing pissed off. The guy was my best friend and he just kind of turned his back on me and f-ing bailed. I was really angry... A lot of the lyrics were aimed toward Danny and a lot of them were quite spiteful."

What changed?

"Denis sat down and was like you don't want this album to be about Danny. Danny is in the past now. You need to move on. You need to look forward to your future."

Denis Shaforostov, of Ukranian band Make Me Famous, is the band's new lead singer. So Ben and Dennis teamed up to re-write most of the lyrics. Although, Ben admits will likely be some mention of Danny because that was a large part of what was happening in Ben's life at the time.

Asking Alexandria's new single is called "I Won't Give in".  Check it out below.

Danny, who is now focused on his other project, We Are Harlot, posted the video to Twitter, saying "New @AA Official song (first since my departure) Very happy to hear sh-- is still going strong. Check it out."
