I'm a huge Anthrax fan, and have been since I first heard State of Euphoria. Of the Big 4, they definitely have the best singer of the bunch, and their brand of thrash is completly different from the other four bands. They just seem to be having a bit more fun than the other bands, and seem to take themselves a bit less seriously, which is fun.

But they also put out some freaking amazing music.

Their last album, Worship Music, was an absolutely stunning album, and featured the return of Joey Belladonna to the band, which was long overdue. Their new album, For All Kings, comes out February 26th, and features the song below, "Breathing Lightning", which has some references to Stephen King's Dark Tower series, which is always awesome.

Anthrax hit the stage third on Sunday night, kicking off with the first single from Worship Music, "Fight 'Em Til You Can't", and powered through some crowd favorites, including "Got the Time", "Indians", "In the End", and more!

Their set was too short for me, but I know so many people were super excited to see Lamb of God, which was also an amazing set. Maybe on the For All Kings tour, we'll get another visit from Anthrax in a headlining show, and I'll get to enjoy a lot more live Anthrax!

It was also good to see the amazing drummer Jon Dette behind the kit for Anthrax on Sunday. I know Charlie is amazing, and he's a huge part of what Anthrax does, but he's missed quite a few shows due to lingering carpal tunnel syndrome over the last few years. He's had surgery for it, but he's still going through rehab, from what I understand.

Jon Dette is more than a decent fill-in, he's a great drummer. He's played with Slayer, Testament, Anthrax, and more. Powerful drummer, with great timing and skills. Great to see you play again, Jon!
