Flying Allegiant Air anytime soon?

A pilots' strike that could begin as early as Thursday (April 2) could impact your spring break travel plans.

Reuters reports that the strike follows more than two years of unsuccessful contract talks and several allegations made by the union and management alike.

The Airline Professionals Association Teamsters Local 1224 warned on Wednesday that strike could potentially ground more than 250 flights throughout the U.S. on Thursday.

Flights our of Gerald R. Ford International Airportare included.

Real time flight information for the airport can be found here.

"This irresponsible and illegal action by the Teamsters has been timed to coincide with the busy holiday travel period, and unfortunately, will likely disrupt flights and passengers in and out of all of our destinations," Allegiant Air said in a statement on the company's website.

Allegiant pilot Tom Pozdro said in the union's own statement, "Striking is a last resort, but we cannot continue to stand by a company that flaunts the law by robbing the pilots of legally protected rights and benefits."

Allegiant Air says it has activated additional call center staff and will contact affected travelers to make them aware of their travel options.

In a statement on the company's Facebook page, travelers are instructed  to visit http://ALGTinfo.com/ for further instructions, or call 702-358-1811.
