If you're a struggling musician and could use a few good pointers, look no further than grunge icons Alice In Chains. The band answered many questions during a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Tuesday (May 28).

As SPIN reports, Alice In Chains held nothing back while sharing their thoughts with the Reddit community. "Just quit now. Save yourself before it's too late," the Seattle rockers bluntly stated about new artists in the music industry.

Of course that response was tinged with sarcasm. The group gave a more serious, encouraging answer to inspire their young peers.

"One of our fears is there's a kid as good as Cobain that isn't in music," Alice In Chains wrote. "The fact that we are here means you can do it — you just have to be do it. No 1/2 measures. Open wide and be prepared to eat alot of sh-t."

Alice In Chains just released their fifth studio album, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. The record is unmistakably an AiC disc, but sounds different enough where it doesn't seem like they're rehashing the same material. The rock veterans were completely focused on making The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here the best album they could make.

"We were listening to ourselves and the new record," the band shared. "When you're making a record you're in lock down mode — the focus is all on that process. It's pretty exhausting — all you want to do after recording is get something to eat, get some sleep and go back into the studio."
