Adam Gontier Performs Solo Set In New York [VIDEO]

On January 17th, Adam Gontier performed a solo set at the Rock for Recovery benefit show for victims of Hurricane Sandy at Gramercy Theatre in New York City. Gontier shocked the rock world by leaving the band Three Days Grace shortly after the release of their latest album, Transit of Venus, and prior to a planned co-headlining tour with Shinedown that makes a stop at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek on February 13th.

Here is a brief timeline of recent events…

October 2, 2012 – Three Days Grace release their 4th studio album, Transit of Venus.

December 15, 2012 – Three Day Grace play a show in Hartford, CT.

December 21, 2012 – Three Days Grace members receive a letter from Adam Gontier’s lawyer stating, “Please be advised effective immediately Adam is terminating his involvement with the band Three Days Grace. Adam has been wrestling with a health issue, outlined in the attached letter (a doctor’s letter dated December 14), which would have precluded him from touring with the band in 2013 and he wants the group to continue moving forward as they see fit while not holding them back.”

January 9, 2013 – Three Days Grace make public announcement that Adam Gontier has left the band. They also say they plan to go on with the scheduled tour with My Darkest Days singer Matt Walst replacing Gontier.
