A man in the Kalamazoo area posted a sale on social media, then lured victims to a location to rob them at gun point after he was paid for the item.

According to WOOD TV, the suspect advertised a gaming system on social media for sale, then told the victims to meet in a parking lot at the Best Western at the intersection of 11th street and Stadium Drive near Kalamazoo just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.

After the suspect received the cash for the system, he then pulled a pistol and left the scene.

The victims made the call to follow the suspect rather than call police. The suspect led them to Crystal Lane near the Evergreen South Apartment Complex and noticed they were following and fired a shot at the victims that hit their vehicle. The victims were not injured.

A description of the suspect has been released. The suspect is said to be a light skin black man in his 20's that stands around 5 foot 10, roughly 160 pounds with a thin build with shorty curly hair. He was said to be wearing a black hoodie, grey sweatpants and black shoes.

Police believe this isn't the first time the suspect has pulled this type of crime since a similar robbery happened at the Evergreen South Apartment Complex where a cellphone was the item that was for sale on social media.

If you or anyone you knows has information regarding either of these crimes, you are urged to contact the Kalamzoo Sheriff's Office at 269-383-8748.
