This story is incredible to me. When I was young I volunteered at a soup kitchen a few times with my best friend and her family. It was a good experience which taught me a lot. Soup kitchen's have the best of intentions but that doesn't change the fact that they are typically a gloomy place, with bare bones food with the cheapest ingredients.

Meet Alexander Rapaport, co founder of Masbia's soup kitchen. A new kind of soup kitchen in New York that offers fresh produce, high quality food prepared by an experienced chef, and an atmosphere that rivals nice restaurants in the area.

There's art on the walls, nice chairs that aren't just folding chairs. Check out this video of Masbia's mission.
