Who you gonna call? Some funny ladies, apparently. After months of rumors and speculation (OK, more like years) about a new 'Ghostbusters' movie, it's official: a female 'Ghostbusters' is in the works.

Paul Feig, director of women-centric comedies 'Bridesmaids' and 'The Heat',
announced on Twitter Wednesday that he's making a new, female-led 'Ghostbusters' movie.

Katie Dippold, who wrote 'The Heat'  and has also worked on 'Parks and Recreation' and 'MadTV'.

In a recent interview discussing the upcoming film, Feig told Entertainment Weekly it will be a reboot and not a sequel:

I love the first one so much I don’t want to do anything to ruin the memory of that. So it just felt like, let’s just restart it because then we can have new dynamics.

No word yet on who they are eyeing to star in the flick.

Franchise alum, Bill Murray, recently voiced his picks for female Ghostbuters.

Murray seems to be in support of the project, adding:

It sounds great to me. It sounds as good as an idea as any other! No, it's a grand idea, I don't know who they are talking about, but it's a good idea, I would watch it!

Well, do you agree with Peter Venkman? Is it a good idea? And who would you like to see cast as the new female Ghostbusters?
