A trick-or-treat tragedy in Grand Haven caused a 3-year-old boy to be sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A father was driving his two sons, ages 3 and 7, from one house to another on Halloween night.  The boys were sitting on the side of their father's mini-van with the door open and their legs hanging out.  That's when tragedy struck.

The van was driving down the street at about 3mph when the 3-year-old boy either fell or got out.  Witnesses saw the incident and were screaming for the dad to stop the van.  He stopped, reversed the van and ran over his son.  With onlookers still screaming, he put the van back into drive and ran over his son a second time.

The boy was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  There is no update as to the boy's current situation.

We can only imagine how bad, the father feels, and we hope the boy fully recovers, but you shouldn't be driving with your kids hanging out of the side of a mini-van no matter how slow you are going.
