3 On 3 Hockey Tournament In Kentwood
After my hockey game last Sunday night in Kentwood, I noticed a flyer at the rink for an upcoming 3 on 3 hockey tournament and thought I'd pass along the info to any hockey players in our area.
It's been called the "Gus Macker of hockey." It's The Johnny Puck 3 On 3 Hockey Tournament and it will take place December 27th to December 29th at Kentwood Ice Arena. There will be Advanced and Intermediate divisions. Champions will receive a cash prize. Players must be 21 or older.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the David Warsen Legacy. David, a 2004 graduate of East Kentwood High School and Navy SEAL, was killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan on August 16th, 2012. He died fighting for what he believed in, among his brothers-in-arms. The David Warsen Legacy sends care packages to Navy SEALs and other forces deployed to Afghanistan and would like to have a scholarship set up for young soccer players whose families may struggle financially.
