3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell was arrested for ‘DUI-other’ on the morning of Thursday, July 19, for reportedly driving under the influence of a narcotic. He was taken in by D’Iberville, Mississippi police after his involvement in a car accident where he allegedly failed to stop at an intersection and crashed into a pickup truck.

Driving a black Cadillac, Harrell reportedly plowed into a silver Toyota truck driven by 44-year-old Ocean Springs resident Darryl Thibodeaux at approximately 7:08 AM. Thibodeaux was taken to Ocean Springs Hospital for back and neck pain, but was quickly treated and released. The 40-year-old bassist, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was charged with ‘DUI-other,’ which is the term for an individual being under the influence of any controlled substance besides alcohol.

According to D’Iberville police captain Clay Jones, Harrell did consent to have blood drawn after police suspected that he was high on some sort of drug. Harrell was released after posting a $1,000 bail.

Harrell was charged with assault in 2004 after reportedly being harassed by a Mississippi Press employee who thought Harrell had stolen three newspapers. The employee, Ronnie Boulware, was allegedly armed with a handgun and was kicked in the groin by Harrell and punched three times in the face.

Harrell was also arrested in 2002 for misdemeanor simple assault and again in 2005 for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
