Apart from the shock that FOX's '24' would live on at all to spawn this May's coming miniseries '24: Live Another Day,' the new adventures of Jack Bauer continue to surprise us with casting. Following news that 'Chuck' and 'Dexter' star Yvonne Strahovski would take part, iconic UK funnyman Stephen Fry has joined 'Live Another Day' in an important role, along with several others.

Via Deadline, Fry will in fact play British Prime Minister Trevor Davies for the European-set adventure, which sees Jack Bauer still a fugitive from the law four years after the eighth season aired its finale. Fry's character is described as a strong and charismatic leader, whose friendship with President Heller (returning star William Devane), and the Anglo-American alliance itself will come under pressure due to personal and political crises.

Other recent additions to the cast include 'Hostages' star Tate Donovan as a White House political aide and husband to returning Kim Raver's Audrey Raines, along with Benjamin Bratt as the head of CIA operations in London, searching for Jack Bauer.

As previously confirmed, ’24: Live Another’ day will air the first two installments of 12 episodes on May 5, jumping between hours in a story that sees Jack Bauer returning alongside his partner Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), along with Judy Davis as a terrorist’s widow and Michael Wincott as an infamous hacker. ‘Live Another Day’ will also have the returning ’24′ team of writer/producers Howard Gordon (‘Homeland‘), Evan Katz, Manny Coto, David Fury, Robert Cochran, Brian Grazer, Jon Cassar and Kiefer Sutherland.

Jack's next day gets more exciting by the minute, but what do you think? Will 'Live Another Day' prove as pulse-pounding, even with the time limit?
