The Detroit Red Wings will definitely have a different look in 2012-2013. No Nick Lidstrom on the blue line, which means the team will have a new captain, and no more Tomas Holmstrom causing havoc in front of the opposing team's goaltender. After a being ousted from the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season in the first round, the Wings definitely have their work cut out for them if they plan to rise to the top of the NHL again any time soon.

The league has released it's schedule for the upcoming season and here are some key dates for the Red Wings...

Friday, October 12th, 2012 - Opening Night at Joe Louis Arena vs the team that ended Detroit's Stanley Cup hopes last season, the Nashville Predators.

Monday, November 19th, 2012 - Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the JLA.

Thursday, November 29th, 2012 - The Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings come to the Motor City.
