But it’s not all wet and wild – through powerful interactives and local messaging, learn how daily decisions can immediately improve the watershed in their own backyard. Water’s Extreme Journey transforms YOU into a drop of water entering a watershed – an area of land where water drains and collects into a shared reservoir. As visitors will discover, a watershed can be right in their own neighborhood, or as big as the Rocky Mountain region!

    The 2018 Winter Beer Festival will feature more than 140 Michigan breweries and brewpubs. There will be samples from over 1000 different craft beers. Guests will also enjoy fine music from local bands, other entertainment, ice sculpture demonstrations, and fire pits to warm up by. A selection of tasty food will be available for purchase at the festival.

    Eliza Doolittle is a young flower seller with a thick Cockney accent. Professor Henry Higgins is an arrogant upper class phonetics professor. A boastful wager sets them on a path of discovery that will change both of their lives. One of the most popular musicals of all time featuring Broadway classics: Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, With a Little Bit of Luck, Get Me To the Church on Time, and I Could Have Danced All Night. (Recommend for teen/adult audiences.)

    Freeze Fest Disc Golf Tournament

    Cost: $40 plus a canned food donation per team

    It is a doubles disc golf tournament and food drive! Bring your own partner. Best shot doubles tournament. All funds raised will go towards the Kentwood Parks & Recreation Youth Programs and all food items donated will go to The Pantry.

    Winter in the Woods

    Venture out and travel back in time to explore the daily life of a pioneer! Warm up in Blandford Nature Center's Robinson-Khutic Log Cabin, it will be open for viewing. 3rd grade students will be volunteering as historical interpreters, bringing the past to life for visitors through imagination and play. All visitors are welcome.

    The Grand Rapids Polar Plunge will take place outside the Van Andel Arena in a swimming pool!  Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. inside The BOB and the plunge will start at 1:00 pm. Stick around for awards at the after-splash bash at the BOB. Join us for the Griffins Game as we continue the celebration. For every ticket sold, $4 will go back to Special Olympics. Purchase your tickets today! By participating in a Polar Plunge around the state you are helping to raise funds for over 23,000 athletes who participate in Special Olympics Michigan. Special Olympics Michigan is a year round program offering sports for those with intellectual disabilities.

Other LEGOⓇmania activities include a brick-building area (sponsored by KDL), delicious food, People’s Choice voting, LEGOⓇ kit raffle, robot demonstrations (sponsored by That ONE Team), prizes, and an awards ceremony.     Ella, a Tribute

    Legendary jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald was renowned for her pure tone and her impeccable diction, but most of all for her improvisational scat singing. The Grand Rapids Symphony celebrates the 100th anniversary of her birth at Symphony with Soul. Guest singers Harolyn Blackwell, Aisha de Haas and Nova Payton join the Grand Rapids Symphony to sing many of Ella Fitzgerald’s biggest hits including “How High the Moon”, “I Got Rhythm”, “Summertime”, “A-Tisket, A-Tasket”, “Satin Doll”, “Bewitched” and “It Don’t Mean A Thing, If It Ain’t Got That Swing”. Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt leads the orchestra and Grand Rapids Symphony Community Chorus, directed by Duane Shields Davis, in the 17th annual celebration of multicultural music in DeVos Performance Hall.

    The annual evening in black returns! If the Little Black Dress is the must-have in your wardrobe, the Little Black Dress Party is the must-attend event of the year. Music from DJ Composition, dancing, cocktails, prizes, and a fashion show presented in conjunction with Renee Austin Wedding / Renee Austin Prom & Occasions and breast cancer survivors. Susan G. Komen Michigan is the charity partner, who will receive a portion of the proceeds from the event.  There is no charge for general admission, but four VIP sections are available to purchase. VIP Sections include soft seating for up to six people, a bottle of Belvedere Vodka and mixers.
